Summer, autumn, winter, spring our food
sources are no longer dependent on what is seasonally available.
Planting, growing and harvesting food even if it is only on the
metaphoric plane in symbolic ritual and in spirit will enrich life. We
need to get back to the cycle of nature-life, death, rebirth. This
involves rethinking how we view, that which we cast off, be it weight,
food, clothes, relationships or jobs as having nutrient value, rather
than as useless waste.
Buying local,
organic food, when possible and practical supports the environment
by eliminating fuel costs, excessive packaging costs and waste products,
and serves to preserve our soil and ground water. There is mounting
evidence that environmental toxins are influencing our state of
health.
Knowledge on how to protect yourself or
right a problem that you may be experiencing due to external sources or
from the increased gastrointestinal permeability, may serve to protect
your body from oxidative damage from free-radicals produced through diet
or environmental influences.
